While you are out enjoying the weather, we would like to remind you to take care of your skin and your tattoos.
You cannot get tattooed if you are sunburned.
If you have an upcoming tattoo appointment, please protect your skin from sunburn by using a sunscreen of SPF 40 or higher, and/or wearing a lightweight, lightly colored covering on the area to be tattooed when you are planning to be in the sun.
Sunburned skin is damaged, wounded skin. Tattooing it would would be unnecessarily more painful, and complicate the healing of both your sunburn and tattoo. The Oregon Health Authority prohibits tattooing on sunburned or otherwise compromised skin.
Your tattooer has set aside the time for you to get tattooed but you must be rescheduled if you are sunburned. Please respect your body and your tattooers time by taking these precautions.
Existing tattoos are important too!
The sun’s UV rays have been proven to be detrimental to the health of your skin and can break down the tattoo pigments. Your existing tattoos are important too, so please protect them with sunscreen and/or light clothing when enjoying the sun. We want you to have the best time outdoors and enjoy your tattoo investment for years to come!
